The Future Is Becoming Connected
Walking the halls, chalets and flight line at Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one theme stood out above all others: connectivity.
Across aerospace and defence, conversations consistently returned to how autonomy, propulsion, software, communications and intelligence are converging to create smarter, more capable systems. Whether discussing uncrewed aircraft, advanced defence platforms or collaborative mission systems, the industry is increasingly focused on integration rather than individual technologies.
It was against this backdrop that ePropelled introduced several new technologies designed to support the next generation of connected uncrewed systems.
Building Blocks of Connected Propulsion
At Farnborough, ePropelled launched the eP Unified Architecture™ (ePUA™), ePLink™, ePConnect™ and the SKYLARK™ Integrated Propulsion Series.
Together, these technologies reflect a belief that future platform performance will depend not only on propulsion efficiency, but on how effectively propulsion systems communicate with the wider vehicle architecture.
As uncrewed platforms become increasingly autonomous and mission critical, customers are looking for solutions that simplify integration, support real-time diagnostics, enable software-based upgrades and deliver greater visibility across their fleets.
The strong interest in our launches reinforced what we have been hearing across the market for some time: customers are seeking connected ecosystems, not just individual components.
More Than Motors
Throughout Farnborough, discussions with OEMs, operators and system integrators revealed a common challenge. Organisations are being asked to deliver more capable platforms at greater speed while managing increasingly complex operational and technical requirements.

One of the most significant announcements was BAE Systems' unveiling of Brontanax, the UK's first autonomous Collaborative Combat Aircraft. The launch highlighted the growing importance of connected autonomy, human-machine teaming and intelligent mission systems.
The message was clear. Future capability will increasingly be delivered through networks of connected platforms rather than standalone assets.
Whether in defence, commercial drones or autonomous ground systems, success will depend on how effectively platforms share data, coordinate actions and adapt to changing operational environments.
Innovation Through Connection
Another consistent theme throughout the week was collaboration.
As a transatlantic company operating across the UK, the United States and India, ePropelled sees first-hand how innovation is accelerated through connected ecosystems. Engagement with partners and stakeholders from New Hampshire further reinforced the importance of strong relationships between aerospace, defence and advanced manufacturing communities on both sides of the Atlantic.
The technologies shaping the future of uncrewed systems are evolving rapidly, and success will increasingly depend on partnerships that combine expertise, accelerate innovation and build resilient supply chains.
The Rise of Connected Motion
As I reflect on Farnborough 2026, my strongest takeaway is that the industry is entering a new phase of maturity.
Autonomy is becoming operational. Artificial intelligence is becoming practical. Connected systems are creating real-world value.
For ePropelled, that future is clear.
The future of uncrewed systems will not be defined by propulsion alone. It will be defined by how effectively propulsion, power, software and autonomy work together.
