New connected propulsion platform introduces firmware-driven capability, lifecycle intelligence and advanced integration for global UAV markets
Farnborough, UK — 20 July, 2026
ePropelled, a leader in advanced electric propulsion and intelligent power management technologies, today announced the global launch of its eP Unified Architecture™ (ePUA™) alongside the introduction of ePLink™, a new hardware enabled connectivity platform designed to enable software-defined propulsion systems across the range.
Unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, the combined solution represents a significant shift from component-based propulsion design toward integrated, intelligent and continuously evolving propulsion ecosystems.
The eP Unified Architecture™ brings together motors, controllers, starter-generators, intelligent power systems and connected software into a single platform, enabling system-level propulsion management across uncrewed air, land and sea applications.
At the centre of the launch is ePLink™, a space efficient physical onboard device that allows direct interaction with propulsion systems across development, manufacturing and operational environments. The platform enables firmware updates, system configuration, diagnostics and secure data exchange between embedded systems and cloud-based tools.

ePropelled's eP Unified Architecture™ and ePLink™ bring motors, controllers, power systems and software together in a connected propulsion ecosystem, enabling firmware-driven upgrades, diagnostics and lifecycle intelligence.
“We are moving from static hardware to propulsion systems that can evolve over time,” said Dean Marcarelli, Chief Commercial Officer of ePropelled. “With ePLink™ and our Unified Architecture, customers can unlock new capabilities through firmware, improve performance continuously and simplify how systems are configured, deployed and maintained.”
The platform is being introduced in an early-access phase, with ongoing validation and quality assurance driving continuous iteration across firmware, communication protocols and system integration workflows.
Through firmware updates delivered via ePLink™ and ePropelled’s existing ePConnect™ software, customers will be able to unlock increasing functionality over time, including enhanced diagnostics, performance optimisation, manufacturing automation integration, telematics and cloud-enabled analytics.
The architecture also introduces increasing levels of intelligence across the propulsion lifecycle, supporting improved configuration, real-time operational control and predictive maintenance.
“To compete in today’s environment, propulsion systems need to be more than powerful — they need to be intelligent, connected and adaptable,” said Marcarelli. “This architecture enables exactly that, helping our customers reduce complexity, accelerate development and improve long-term system performance.”
ePropelled is also developing expanded support for CAN-based communication protocols, including DroneCAN and SAE J1939, enabling interoperability with a wide range of UAV, autonomous and industrial systems.
The Unified Architecture is designed to support global OEMs seeking to standardise propulsion systems across platforms while maintaining flexibility for different mission requirements, while also aligning with NDAA-compliant and sovereign supply chain requirements.
The company is showcasing eP Unified Architecture™ and ePLink™ firmware-enabled capability, connected diagnostics and hybrid system integration platforms at Farnborough 2026.
