Groundbreaking EV Propulsion System

Dynamic Torque Switching™, our patented technology for electric propulsion systems is an innovative drive system concept that allows a single electric machine to dynamically change between several modes, each optimized for different points in the drive cycle. The control system is designed to allow the transition between the modes to take place seamlessly to deliver optimum torque/speed/efficiency characteristics in real-time.

This technology produces a much more energy-efficient method of electric propulsion that increases driving range or allows the manufacturers to reduce battery sizes. It also extends the life expectancy of the battery pack. This is a major improvement to today’s capabilities, and it better meets the expectations of the market.

  • We provide at least a 15% reduction in system level energy consumption.
  • Reduced battery use means vehicles can go longer between charges.
  • Smaller batteries and better efficiencies result in much lower vehicle costs.

Lowell, MA | September 22, 2021 – ePropelled, the Massachusetts-based technology company that offers leading-edge electric propulsion systems, today announced the release of a groundbreaking new electric vehicle (EV) propulsion system to be showcased at the Cenex-LCV in Millbrook, U.K. This new system increases power efficiency by at least 15%, which will allow manufacturers to reduce the size and cost of their battery packs. Battery packs can account for as much as 30% of the cost of vehicles, which can make smaller EVs uneconomical. Reducing this cost will improve profitably of EVs while facilitating adoption by consumers.

Presenting eDTS Test Results at Cenex

ePropelled’s CTO, Nabeel Shirazee, and Head of EV, Devid Hudson, presented the detailed test results of our first proof of concept at Cenex LCV in September 2021. See their 15-minute presentation:
