ePropelled is the leader in magnetic engineering innovations that dramatically improve electric motor and generator efficiency for propulsion applications such as aviation, aerospace and electric vehicles.

ePropelled looking for a skilled “hands on” senior mechanical engineer to perform a variety of design tasks. Specific tasks include electronic enclosure design for power systems, including power supplies and motor controllers, mechanical motor interfaces, PCB restriction drawings as well as other mechanical design tasks. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience with thermal analysis as applied to the design of enclosures, PCBs and electronic power systems.

Responsibilities
  • From requirements, develop initial product design concepts and document for review
  • Develop functional and design specifications
  • Develop detailed designs, manage prototype builds
  • Source all parts and create requisitions as required
  • Identify tooling requirements including cost
  • Perform thermal analysis of systems and design to meet thermal requirements of all system components
  • Develop PCB restriction drawings as required
  • Work with manufacturing to ensure testability/manufacturability
  • Develop and test prototypes
  • Perform engineering and quality analysis of designs and prototypes
  • Conduct reviews with development team at each phase of development from concept to prototype, through final production.
  • Prepare product cost estimates
  • Develop and execute all test plans and document results
  • Complete all product documentation for release to manufacturing
Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Five to ten years’ experience with PCB design and thermal analysis tools required
  • Five to ten years’ experience designing mechanical enclosures for electronics, experience in power electronics packaging is desired.
  • Five to ten years’ experience with sheet metal fabrication and tooling
  • Must have experience in Onshape or SolidWorks; experience with AutoCAD 2019 or another CAD software is a plus
  • Experience with electro/mechanical and plastic components considered a plus
  • Knowledgeable with general architectural/mechanical layout formats
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office PC software and network usage
  • Strong organizational skills
